I reference these enough, might as well add a bookmark. Very thorough docs for getting an GtS instance up and running. It's not a five minute install, but I got through it in about a weekend.

One of the first things I setup after joining the #Fediverse and getting into #IndieWeb was setting up the webfinger and nodeinfo files on my website. Here's how to do it, tho not sure how useful it is anymore. It was fun to learn and setup tho!

I once took down a small FunkWhale instance by linking out to a song on the server. As it got boosted quickly, each Mastodon instance would reach out to build their own version of the oEmbed causing the site to go down. Oops! This site discusses possible solutions to these type of situations.
